Abstract. The Li concentration in groundwater from the Tunka Valley varies by five orders of magni-tude. Low Li concentration is characteristic of groundwater from seismogenic mylonites of the Main Sayan Fault, high Li concentration is specific for groundwater from Li-granites. An in-crease in friction temperature from 9 to 116 °C in the low-Li groundwater reservoir of the seismically active fault facilitates exchange reactions of clay minerals and zeolites, increasing Li concentration and decreasing the Na/Li ratio. The temperature dependence of the Na/Li ratio in a high-Li groundwater reservoir from Li-granites is associated with the dissolution of Li (along with Rb) and the removal of Na. It is suggested that neutron bombardment in the high-Li groundwater reservoir provides the generation of ³Не with increasing ³Не/⁴Не to a value of 1.1 × 10⁻⁵, anomalous for crustal groundwater reservoirs.
