The procedure for sending and the rules for the preparation of manuscripts of scientific articles

Rules for submitting articles

The serial periodical electronic edition of the journal "Geology and Environment" publishes materials of the scientific and educational direction, reflecting the theoretical, methodological and practical results of the scientific activities of young and mature geologists and geographers - researchers, teachers, graduate students, students of master's and bachelor's training. In addition to scientific articles, the journal contains reviews and reviews of monographs, textbooks, manuals, collections of scientific papers. An important place is given to thematic reviews and events of scientific and educational activities of universities in the profile of the publication. An important task of the journal is the publication of scientific articles (authored or co-authored) by students, graduate students and young researchers. Articles are published in Russian or English.

The authors are responsible for the accuracy of the presentation of facts in the published materials, plagiarism (voluntary or involuntary). All elements borrowed from the manuscript (graphics, text, primary data) must be accompanied by the appropriate correct references or the permission of the copyright holder.

The opinion of the editorial board may not coincide with the opinion of the authors. The journal is peer-reviewed. Publication of manuscripts is free of charge. No royalties are paid to the authors.

Manuscripts of articles are sent to the e-mail addresses: kaf-dinamgeol@mail.ru or igpug@mail.ru. The work must be fully prepared for printing. The editorial board reserves the right to make changes in agreement with the authors. Acceptance of works in handwritten or paper form, which requires technical registration, is possible for an additional fee with the conclusion of a contract.

On a separate page, the author's note is sent to the editorial office, containing the surname, name, patronymic, academic degree, title, position, place of work, postal address, phone number and e-mail address of each author. It is necessary to indicate the name of the author responsible for the passage of the article in the editorial office. It is desirable to indicate three specialists working on the subject of the article as possible reviewers. Decisions on the review of manuscripts are made by the Editorial Board.

Rules for the preparation of the article

The recommended volume of scientific articles sent for publication in the journal is 1.5 printed sheets or 24 pages with the following parameters. The first page indicates the UDC, then in Russian and English the following are given: the title of the article; initials and surname of the authors, the name of the institutions where each author works; abstract and keywords. The abstract should contain 150-200 words, the number of keywords should not exceed 8. Do not put a period at the end of keywords, and also do not forget to capitalize in the English title of the article, as is customary for English headings. In exceptional cases, when a full disclosure of the research topic is required, the volume of the manuscript may be exceeded.

The style of the main text is "Regular", the font is Times New Roman, size 14, line spacing is 1, the red line is 0.5 mm, the margins are 2.5 cm. It is necessary to submit works in the format of a Word or RTF text editor. More detailed information about the authors in Russian and English is given at the end of the article (see examples in the last issue).

Abbreviations are not allowed in the text of the article (except for standard ones); abbreviated names are explained at the first mention; All local place names should be checked. The SI international system of units of measurement is used. In the calculation works, it is necessary to indicate the authors of the programs used.

It is not allowed to use when typing:

1. More than one space and spaces at the end of paragraphs.
2. Forming a red line using spaces.
3. Auto-numbering (numbered and bulleted lists) in chapters and paragraphs.
4. Forced (manual) or automatic hyphenation in words.
5. Signs < and > in Annotations.

Figures inserted into the work must be duplicated as separate files in graphic formats: .jpg, .cpt and .cdr with a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Their size should be at least 8 cm in width, and the maximum size should not exceed 17x24.5 cm. The number of figures in the article should not exceed 10. Figures must have all the necessary designations and captions in Russian and English. Editing pictures using Word is not allowed.

References to figures are given in parentheses in the format: (Fig. 1) or (Fig. 1, 2) or (Fig. 1-4).

If the figure is the only one in the article, then it is not numbered, and the word "fig." is not written in the caption to it. A link to it in the text is (figure).

When presenting materials on specific objects, the article should contain an overview map or diagram showing the study area. Geographical coordinates should be indicated on maps, and orientation and linear scale should be indicated in drawings. Cardinal directions, latitudes and longitudes must be indicated in Russian.

Tables inserted into the work should have a width of no more than 16.5 cm, landscape - 24.5 cm; Times New Roman table font, size 11, line spacing 1, have continuous sequential numbering within the article, references to tables are given in parentheses in the format: (Table 1) or (Tables 1, 2) or (Tables 1–4). If the table is the only one in the article, then it is not numbered, and the word "Table" is not written in the title. A link to it is (table). Numbers and names of tables are given in Russian and English.

Computer units are written in the Russian abbreviation (Table 1).
