Abstract. With the outbreak of World War II, a number of higher education institutions in the western and central regions of the Soviet Union were evacuated. The Leningrad Mining Institute is located in Cheremkhovo, Irkutsk region. LGI teachers not only organized the educational process during the war, but also conducted searches and exploration of strategic mineral resources in Siberia.
